Types of Multiple Entry Visas for Vietnam

There are two types of multiple entry visas available for Vietnam: the 1-year multiple entry visa and the 5-year multiple entry visa. Both visas allow for unlimited entries into Vietnam during their respective validity periods. However, there are some differences between the two that you should be aware of before making your application.

The 1-year multiple entry visa is valid for one year from the date of issue and allows for stays of up to 90 days per entry. This means that you can stay in Vietnam for up to 90 days at a time, but you must leave the country before the 90-day period expires. After leaving, you can re-enter Vietnam as many times as you wish within the one-year validity period. This visa is ideal for those who plan on making multiple short trips to Vietnam within a year.

On the other hand, the 5-year multiple entry visa is valid for five years from the date of issue and allows for stays of up to 180 days per entry. This means that you can stay in Vietnam for up to 180 days at a time before having to leave the country. However, you must still adhere to the overall five-year validity period and cannot enter Vietnam after the visa has expired. This visa is more suitable for those who plan on staying in Vietnam for longer periods or making frequent extended trips.
